SUCCESS

Who is considered to be truly successful? That  who completes a course with honors, or that who is sure to have done his/her best?
What can be more important than self-satisfaction? Why do we do what we do? To be perceived by others ,or to have the true, deep certainty that we aimed at the best.
Another important factor is to have the least regrets possible. Regrets are disappointments for things we should or shouldn’t have done.
In the Unit IV of our book  have been familiarizing with  terms  used in the American system of education, which is different from ours, and will learn how to express wishes. Things we would like to be different in the present or future, and things we regret from the past.
What is the difference when we say:
I wish I had better grades. /  If only I had better grades.
Or
I wish I had studied more for the exam. /If only I had studied more for the exam.

In the next post there will be some practice on the grammar for this unit.

National Stereotypes. Good....or bad?

Even though we don't have time to study every single person from any nation  or culture,  we also try to put people into  predetermined categories which are not always definitely true. Before jumping into conclusions we need to be more patient and judge people by their own personal identities and not by simply classifying them. Stereotyping could be the sign of a lazy mind who is no trying to discover the truth but prefer labeling, don't you think?
Watch this video. It's a message that aims at tolerance, unity, and peace through laugher. I hope you will find it humorous and relaxing.
